1. Purple Line

The Bangalore Metro Purple Line also referred to as the East-West Line is the first Metro operational line in Bangalore that stretches from Baiyappanahalli in the east to Mysore Road in the west. 2. Green Line

The Bangalore Metro Green Line, also known as the North-South Line, spans from Nagasandra in the north to Yelachenahalli in the south, comprising a total of 24 stations. 3. Yellow Line

4. Blue line

The projected Blue Metro line will be the first to connect the city’s airport to other parts. This Bangalore Metro route starts from the Central Silk Board and connects the KIAL airport terminals via 30 stations, covering a total distance of 58.19 kilometres. It might come into operation from 2025.


5. Pink Line

The Bangalore Metro Pink Line will connect Nagawara in the north to Gottigere in the south of Bangalore, spanning 18 stations underground at a distance of 21.386 km in the year 2025.


6. Orange line

The orange line will be developed under phase 3 of the Bangalore Metro line map, connecting the two Metro lines of Phase 2A and Phase 3A in a single station. This new line is estimated to be functional for public use by 2028-29. 


7. Silver Line 

The Silver Line, which commenced as part of Phase 3 of the Bangalore Metro line, is estimated to come into operation in the year 2028. It will commence at Hosahalli and conclude at Kadabagere station, covering 9 stops. 


8. Red Line 

The Red Line Bangalore Metro of Phase 3 will be one of the long Metro lines of Bangalore covering 29 stations from Hebbal to Sarjapur Metro station.

Bangalore Metro Timings  


The Bangalore/Namma Metro operates from Monday to Saturday, with timings from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays (Monday to Friday) and from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on fourth Saturdays and government holidays. On Sundays, the Metro operates from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Trains are frequently available in the Bangalore Metro station at intervals of 4 to 5 minutes.


Bangalore Metro Timings Fare


The Metro fare depends on the token type and the distance travelled, ranging from a minimum of Rs. 10 to a maximum of Rs. 45 for individual tickets.


Namma Metro/ Bangalore Metro fare is availed in three categories:


1. For single-way Metro travel, you can purchase a token fare, which starts from Rs. 10 and goes up to Rs. 50 for longer distances.


2. Group tickets are available for teams of 25 people travelling to the same destination, with a 10% discount on the total fare.


3. Alternatively, you can opt for a Bangalore Metro smart card, priced at Rs. 50, which can be recharged with up to Rs. 3000. Smart card users receive a 5% discount on the token fare amount.


Bangalore/ Namma Metro App


In October 2022, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) introduced QR code-based tickets, available exclusively through the Namma Metro Mobile Application. With the Namma Metro app, passengers can easily purchase QR code-based tickets directly from their smartphones. 


The app displays the QR code, which serves as the ticket, eliminating the need for physical tickets or tokens. Upon reaching the Metro station, passengers can simply tap their smartphones at the QR-enabled Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates. The QR code is scanned instantly, allowing seamless entry into the Bangalore Metro station without the hassle of queuing at ticket counters or vending machines. The Namma Metro app streamlines the ticketing process, saving time and effort for commuters.
